Types of Disposable Coveralls Available

General-use disposable coveralls are commonly rated against a specific “Type” according to widely recognised international product standards for these garments.  Selection of the appropriate type depends on the tasks being performed by the wearer.  For example, protection against particles and limited splashes (typical for light industrial cleaning, hazardous waste cleanup, & spray painting) are suitable for a Type 5/6 rated disposable coverall.  Protection against these hazards plus liquid sprays requires a Type 4/5/6 disposable coverall.  Other protection Types cover gas tight (Type 1), gas non-tight (Type 2), and liquid jet-tight (Type 3) ratings for disposable coveralls.

Disposable coveralls may also be broadly grouped into types based on categories (such as disposable hooded coveralls, chemical resistant coveralls, or disposable painters coveralls) or by colour-coding for job roles or contamination zones (for example, blue for healthcare; white for cleanrooms; and yellow for hazardous zones).

Frequently Asked Questions

Disposable coveralls provide a protective barrier for workers against site hazards across a wide range of applications such as industrial cleaning, waste cleanup, painting, and chemical processing.  Disposable coveralls also provide essential protection for medical & healthcare teams in sterile environments to control contamination risks and protect workers from hazards.

Disposable coveralls are intended as single-use garments and should not be reused.  Effective protection, safety and hygiene may be compromised if a contaminated disposable coverall is reused, especially in regulated or high-risk settings.

The degree of breathability depends on the material from which a disposable coverall is made.  Materials such as polypropylene and SMS offer greater breathability and may be more suitable in warmer environments.  Some models of disposable coveralls combine a less breathable front side for greater protection, together with a more breathable back panel for enhanced breathability and comfort.

Colour-coding of teams wearing disposable coveralls is typically used to provide visual identification of job types to support worksite compliance and minimise cross-contamination risks between different tasks. For example, blue for healthcare, white for cleanrooms, and yellow for hazardous zones.

URSafeRite can supply disposable coveralls in bulk configurations including carton lots or greater quantities depending on your requirements.  Simply contact us for more details.
