A powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) welding helmet is engineered to provide combined respiratory and eye/face protection for workers in welding environments where particulates, smoke & fumes are common hazards to personal safety.  The welding helmet delivers protection for the eyes & face against welding flash & high intensity light radiation, while the integrated PAPR system provides a continuous supply of clean air to the wearer from an attached battery-powered fan blower pack.

Filters should be inspected regularly before & after each use, and replaced according to the manufacturer specific guidelines that are provided with each system.  Batteries for the blower unit can be recharged depending on the system specification and battery life will depend on capacity, frequency of use and settings used for each job.  Batteries should be replaced once the charging performance & effective usable life is depleted.

A welding helmet with PAPR kit is designed to be suitable for most welding & allied operations including cutting and grinding.  This includes MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy welding applications.
